Paul Portier College did not have a covered courtyard to provide shelter for students during very hot or rainy weather. The project was designed to meet this need.

The available space was limited, the northern part of the courtyard was designed for physical education and sports classes, the project was implemented on the southern part, in order to preserve the large existing willow. We sought to recreate an animated volume, inspired by a canopy visible from the floors.

The facade materials of the college building are mainly brick and metal. The courtyard is made of metal, in line with the existing buildings.

At the foot of each post grow honeysuckle and clematis watered by rainwater downspouts. On the north-facing slopes (to avoid overheating) translucent polycarbonate brings natural light under the awning.
