Chambre d'Agriculture de Côte d'Or

The land is located in a business park to the north of the city, on the national road that links Dijon and Troyes. It benefits from great visibility because it overlooks a roundabout. The construction is approximately 460 m², while the buildings surrounding it are 1000 to 8000 m². The challenge was to prevent the building from cancelling out its neighbors. The plot is truncated by a 45º angle because of the footprint of the roundabout. This limit will be the hypotenuse of the triangular base building, so the facade overlooking the rotunda will be longer.

The orientation of this façade is rather unfavourable, facing north-west and located on the roundabout, which could cause nuisances to the building. Without any opening, it becomes a large advertising panel for the Chamber of Agriculture. Inside, the rooms are organised parallel to the orthogonal façades, when they meet the diagonal at 45º, they end on a curve. Thus, the perspective of the corridor is composed of a succession of curved angles, making it possible to optimise the residual spaces and to offer poetry to the journey.
